The magazine appears in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as a German-language print version. This magazine is the most significant German-language professional journal in the area of breastfeeding counselling and an important source of information for medical professionals, such as International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), pediatric nurses, midwives, physicians, maternity nurses, hospitals, volunteer breastfeeding counsellors, mother/parent advisors as well as professional schools. At the same time, the magazine is the association journal for the European Lactation Consultant Alliance (ELACTA). It is our intention to provide reliable information for our readers and to keep their scientific knowledge about breastfeeding and mother’s milk up to date 


The magazine appears quarterly. The German edition has a circulation of 2,500 copies. The English edition appears as a PFD to which the 22 member associations in Europe, Israel and Egypt have access. 



We adhere to the WHO “International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes” and its subsequent resolutions. This means that we forego advertising which includes breast-milk substitutes, feeding bottles and teats. In order to avoid conflicts of interest, we work together with advertising customers who also observe the WHO Code.



We reserve the right to critically examine and present products which come onto the market in connection with lactation and/or breastfeeding. We want to enhance the professional competency of our readers so that they are better positioned to help parents make informed decisions.
